History of use of goji for health benefits is 6000 years old. Since a long it is being used in the Chinese medicines and as a health food. It can bring about a drastic change in your lifestyle by improving health and total well being. The most important benefit of Goji Berry includes its anti – aging property. It acts via two ways; firstly, it contains antioxidant compounds which slow down the aging process by reducing the free radicals. Secondly, it enhances the ability to produce growth hormones by supplying Potassium and amino acids (L-glutamine and L-arginine) for the pituitary gland.

Some studies show that Goji Berry enhances lymphocyte transformation rate and macrophage phagocytic function. Zeaxanthin dipalmitate present in goji berries have hepato-protective properties and can reverse carbon tetrachloride induced hepatotoxicity. Also, lutein and zeaxanthin neutralizes the free radicals formed by the sunlight.
