The Chinese Privet is Incredibly Durable

There are a good number of indoor bonsai trees that are good for beginners. Many of these trees are described as durable or hardy, but few are called nearly indestructible. That is, however, a term applied to the Chinese Privet, or the Ligustrum sinense. For a beginner, this is a great tree. It will grow up to two foot tall, making it look quite impressive, and its trunk does have a tendency to twist and turn. During the spring, the Chinese Privet grows small, white flowers that are quite lovely and fragrant.

 

Like all bonsai, the Chinese Privet relies are four different ingredients to truly be healthy. this is what you need to know about caring for your bonsai tree. The first is soil. With a good soil that provides nutrients and holds water, your bonsai can be healthy from the roots up. Sunlight is the second ingredient—keep your Chinese Privet in warm sunlight, but don’t give it too much direct light. Water is also vital. Keep the soil moist, but don’t let water stand in the pot. Bonsai can get too much water, leading to disease. Finally, bonsai need air to breath. Be sure to leave some space between bonsai so that fresh air can flow in between them. Combine these four ingredients and your bonsai will look great.
