Don’t Let Snow Keep You From Exercising
Yes it’s cold during the winter months. Yes if you are like most of us staying inside warm and cozy during frigid temperatures is a no brainer. But if you are the type of person who embraces cold weather and especially the snow than you know that wintertime is great for snowboarding, skiing, sledding or ice skating. These types of activities can really burn off the calories.
But what if you haven’t been so active and are afraid that getting started in some of these activities will cause you some discomfort. Well the short answer would be to take it slow. The other thing would be to get yourself on to a fitness workout plan so to avoid injury. Strength and resistance training is a good place to start. Find your self a personal trainer at the gym and stick to a plan that will make your body stronger. Doing so will make those winter sports actives more enjoyable.
Of course if you are not a snowbird there is nothing wrong with curling up with a warm blanket and hot cocoa and just chill inside. Just look toward inside fitness activities like basketball, wall climbing, swimming or tennis to name a few. Once again to enjoy these types of fitness workouts you should still concentrate on improving your muscle strength through strength or resistance training.
