I had been trying to decide what to get Mom for Mother’s Day this year. I was having trouble deciding what to buy for a couple of reasons. First, my Mom seems to have everything. It seems if she needs something during the year, she simply picks it up for herself. The other thing is my budget is pretty tight this year. I would love to treat her to something really cool like a cooking class or time at a dayspa, but I just can’t swing it this year. But one thing my Mom loves is fresh lemonade, especially this time of year. And she recently broke her favorite glass pitcher. When you are looking for that special opportunity to give your favorite canine something special it is hard to beat a nice collar. If you don’t find that to be a really exciting concept in the spring, you’re either a man or you don’t live in a climate where you’re hermetically sealed in a dry box of recycled air for at least five months every year. I was walking past an open window this morning and was attracted by a sound that I haven’t heard in months. There were birds outside, calling to each other. Actually, I recognize this one and it’s a cardinal. They’re easy to spot with their brilliant scarlet color and propensity to head for the highest local vantage point available. I think its time for me to bring my blue enameled Birdbath back into the yard. Oh happy day. (more…)

I don’t often take the time in my busy day to sit and sip a cup of coffee, so when I do grab a few minutes for myself, I want the coffee to be really special.
